First Sun (this first son ain’t looking so good)

by Joshua

Finally, a break in the cold weather. The sun was shining and my pale white skin was crying out for a little color. I packed my blanket, book, and wallet and set off to the park. I had this nagging feeling like I was forgetting something…ah, whatever…it’s sunny out…

An hour later, relaxing with a good book I realized my head was getting fried. I forgot my hat. I didn’t want to leave the park, so I took off my shirt and threw it over my head and went back to my book. Problem solved.

Another hour passes, and a cute dog stops by along with it’s cute owner. I look up and give a friendly hello. A very quick “sorry about the dog” from the owner, and she just about ran away. Then it hit me. I’m the pale white man with no shirt on, head sweating profusely from under his t-shirt, alone. That was the image I was projecting. Crap.

Guess I’ll bring my hat next time.
