Man-ness on the decline?

This is a question that seems to pop up every other week. I last encountered this in an article (1) on the recent crop of TV shows where the man/husband is a bit of a shlump. Even though they are able to provide for their families, the men are portrayed as, well, clueless and childish.

So, do you agree? Do or don’t men have their shit together these days? And yes, I know that it depends on your definition of men, masculinity, etc., but I’m looking for your gut reaction.

Are we no longer men of action, but instead more like spoiled children who don’t know how easy we have it?

And lastly, my apologies to anyone who mis-read the title of the article and though it was about Mike Ness. Now there’s a guy who takes care of business.
